  Are we victims of abuse? Should we even think of ourselves that way?

  abuse is such a serious word and i'd hate to use it lightly so if anyone reading this has suffered physical or sexual abuse please know that i absolutely do not equate religious abuse with your suffering.

  that being said, many of us were lied to and manipulated for decades.

  this cultic 'abuse' has borne fruit in shattered relationships, broken families and estranged children.

  Freemindfade, survivor is a much better term. I am a survivor of both child abuse (physical and emotional ) and spouse abuse.

  Flipper has covered a huge amount of the abuse in the organization but there is still the emotional abuse of the children. Those Caleb and Sofia videos and the children books that pale.emperor was discussing on another thread with those horrible graphics along with meeting agendas with no concept of age appropriate material.

  Then you get into a JC with 3 men and 1 woman or a child asking totally inappropriate questions.

  YES, all of this is outright abuse. If it wasn't a religion it would be criminal abuse.

  Never a JW but walked away from Religion at 50. I still believe in God and I am very spiritual not into the Bible.

  The questions I askipped if God created Religion how many Religions would he have created?

  Also for those who are or when you were active in Religion think about the people around you and answer this question about yourself and others. Are you walking with God or are you just making the appearance of walking with God?

  When men of the cloth can look you in the face and tell you a bold face lie there is no way they are walking with God. Check the ten commandments. You cannot be of the cloth and be Religious and believe in the Bible and walk with God and lie just all does not add up along with all of their adultery they commit and get away with.

  I believe in a loving and caring God. I do a lot of charity work for children and women.

  Then there is always that other group of us who was really stupid enough to get involved in a relationship with a JW. He never talked about his religion or his beliefs for five years then I asked a question and started a debate. That got me LOL an email "good bye have a nice life ". So I ended up here to find out what are JWS and found a great support system.

  We have a Baptist Church that is extremely close to the local KH. This church is so large that they use a shuttle bus in their parking lot to transport people from their cars to the entrance of the church. The lot far exceeds the size of any Walmart parking lot by at least 2X. Everyone in the neighborhood knows when this church let's out and you do not go on any of the surrounding roads because the police are there to allow this traffic out of this church for the next 30 minutes.

  Are quality restaurants even slightly aware of the concept..

  of providing high quality food?.

  personally i prefer the small restaurants with a owner who cooks the food.

  often the food is equally imaginative and just as tasty as the more expensive restaurant.

  Oh you just made me very hungry for the foods I used to love. All those delightful healthy beans and homemade breads!! Those were the days, long gone now. I still make homemade muffins for the family which of course I cannot eat because of the wheat.

  As for dining out I much prefer the hidden little no name mom and pop places. Our family generally loves BBQ and the initial trip down looking for a house to buy, one of the crazy out of the way houses we found this hidden BBQ restaurant. This place has two dining rooms on either sides of the parking lot absolutely nothing fancy about it. From the time they open to the time they close there is a wait for a table. Last month online a list came out top 10 best hidden restaurants in Florida. Well I guess the lines are going to get longer. Maybe carry out will be an option now. LOL

  I have been living in a Quiet world

  my kids and friends kept telling me you are so hard of hearing.

  finally i got tired of asking them to repeat what they had just said.

  Yes Smiddy the idea of waiting on Jehovah would never of cut it with me. Since higher education is a big part of my goal for all kids that would have been a huge clash.

  Phizzy,

  The snap on and off is for the shower, swimming pool and bedtime. OH, when I just want to turn someone off I just need to reach behind my ear and touch the button and like majic silence will return. My dil says I am very lucky because my 2 year old grandson has no volume control button installed on his voice as of yet.
